For Irani Zoroastrians, in India and abroad
Irani Zoroastrian families have their own history inside the wider community. Many trace it to Yazd or Kerman a few generations back, and some still speak Dari or Persian at home. Today Irani families live in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad, and in Britain, North America, Australia and the Gulf, often far from the families they grew up alongside.
That can make finding a life partner harder than it should be, when the people you might marry are spread across several cities and countries. Ushta is a free app where Irani and Parsi Zoroastrians meet each other directly, and where every member is verified before they see anyone.
One community on Ushta
Ushta treats Irani and Parsi members as one community. Everyone joins the same way, is verified the same way and uses the same app, with the same three introductions a day.
When you join, you choose the one that describes you: Parsi, Irani, Iranian Zoroastrian or Other Zoroastrian. It shows on your profile under Community, and once you are verified it stays as it is unless you write to us. In your preferences, Community starts with all four chosen, so Irani and Parsi members can be introduced to each other from the first day. An Irani member in Hyderabad and a Parsi member in Pune can be in each other's three on the same morning. You can narrow it, but nothing asks you to.
The languages you grew up with
Under languages you can pick English, Gujarati, Parsi Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Persian, Dari, Urdu, French or German, and add any other you speak. Your profile lists them after Speaks, so someone reading it can see at a glance whether your grandmother and theirs would have understood each other.
It is not a filter, and nobody is hidden because of the languages they chose. It is there so that a first note can start on common ground.
Verified, whichever you chose
Every member, Irani or Parsi, adds a government ID and a selfie taken in the app, and has a short call with a person on our team, before they can see anyone. Whichever community you chose, our team asks about it on that call. It works the same for a member in Hyderabad as for one in Toronto, and it is all done before your first introduction.
Close to home, or further
Your three each morning are chosen automatically from your preferences and theirs. Distance starts on Same country. Choose Same city to stay close to home, whether home is Hyderabad, Pune or Mumbai, or Anywhere to include Zoroastrians in other countries.
Family can help
A parent or another relative can make a profile for someone and manage it, as long as the person it is for knows and agrees. The profile says that a family member manages it, and Ushta shows other members the relationship, never the relative's name.
No fees
Ushta costs nothing to join or to use. There is no paid tier, no featured profiles and no advertising, so a family in Hyderabad and a family in Toronto see the same app.
If you are an Irani Zoroastrian, 21 or over and looking for a life partner, you are welcome here. Questions people ask answers the rest, and Meeting Parsis when you live abroad covers distance and time zones.
